Dr. Ali Altememy

Education is different everywhere, and the founders of Erasmus International School know this very well. Both Mrs. Laila Moufid and Dr. Ali Altememy have enjoyed extensive experience in the field of education in different countries. Dr. Ali Altememy obtained his primary and secondary school diplomas in Iraq. He received a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and psychology from the University of Baghdad. He also received his training in psychology and education there. He worked as a university professor in Iraq. He then completed his PhD in Psychology at the University of Tunis. In the years following his studies, Dr. Ali Altememy moved to the Netherlands, where he established a clinic as a psychologist in the Dutch city The Hague, where he is still working as a psychologist in Arabic for many years. He is a member of the Netherlands Institute of Psychologists.

Mrs. Laila Moufid

Mrs. Laila Moufid completed her primary and secondary education in Morocco and moved to the Netherlands to do her studies. She obtained a bachelor’s degree and a preparatory year for a master’s degree at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. During her studies in Sociology and Education, her current employer asked her to stay in the Netherlands. Through her studies and work as a social and educational researcher, at the municipality of The Hague in the Netherlands, she gained many years of experience in raising and developing children and how parents can deal with them. Mrs. Laila Moufd also obtained a certificate in educational and psychological guidance for children.

Mrs. Laila and Dr. Ali have experienced as parents how education can differ, and how important teaching methods of the teachers are to the children’s development. They know better than anyone how much influence the way of education has on their children.

Now that they are leaving the Western world behind and are returning to the Arab world, they want to transfer their experience to Morocco. That is why they founded the Erasmus International School in Fez. Mrs. Laila and Dr. Ali recognize the importance of good education for the development of children. They use their expertise to improve the position of the child in education and to ensure that the children get a head start in life.

The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences.
